towing sockets

Post by gti mad man »

im i right in thinking that my sockets have been incorectly wired ?

instead of splicing into the wiring loom they have cut it send it off to the socket then back to the rear lights?

also i have two sockets ones lights would other be for a fridge or something ?

do you mean they have wired it in series?
there's a proper place to wire it in the junction box

you don't need the other one unless your towing a caravan... and even then you don't.

Follow this link...both show standard UK towbar electrics

12N is your normal 7pin towing socket for trailers etc

12S is the extra socket for caravans ie; split charge, fridge, interoir caravan lights, reversing light.
