Which page are you on?
What year is your van?

My Haynes shows the fuse as S15, shared with the Horn.
Definately on the fuse board.

Cant remember the exact page right now, Im at home and the van is out in the rain! But its the first page of the electrics bit, 12, I think. It says that pre 1986 vans have the reverse light fuse in line in the engine compartment. Pre 1986 vans dont have as many fuses in the main fuse box.
You are right about fuse 15 but that is for vans made 1986 onwards.
See the page that shows the picture of the fuse box, well go back 1 page to the index and look at the bottom of that page....

On an early ceramic fuse board it should be fuse 12 (8 amp) for the horn & the reverse lights,
on a later board it should be fuse 15 (10amp) for reverseing lights only.
I'm fairly sure the only fuses that should be in the engine compartment are for the glow plug circuits on a diesel.

What are you trying to sort out? if the reverse lights aren't working it could be the switch or the earth/bulb holder ?

Yeah the reverse lights arent working.
I thought I would check the fuse first of all to see if it was a simple job.
I will check the earth and switch - the switch is somewhere in the gear stick isnt it??

I believe the switch is mounted on the gearbox, NS, two wires. Give them a good clean up..
Then make sure the switch does indeed switch the lights on and off, might have been disconnected beacause of a faulty switch by a previous owner ?
Check your bulbs and make sure your bulb holders have the contacts in them -
If you have the early style fuseboard, does the horn work - as mentioned before it should be the same fuse..

Have fun under there
