Clonking noise when turning...

Hi!

I'm new here and to make matters worse have nooo technical knowledge about engines etc so please forgive me if I do/say something daft

Driving our 1982 2.1lt Westfalia (automatic) today I noticed a worrying clonking sound from underneath at the front when I was turning right. Happened a few times. Not sure what this might be nor how serious...

Please can anyone help this damsel in distress?
