Will a 2.1 gas muffler mount easily using diesel brackets

Post by caveman »

I am in the process of upgrading my complete exhaust for my 1Y [see the post for" alternative exhaust for a 1.9 diesel"].I was going to try to use a muffler for a 2.1 l gas engine. looking at parts and repair manuals i noticed the gas and diesel mufflers don't mount up quite the same. Can the gas brackets bolt up to where the diesel muffler rubber mounts are with or without some fiddling ? If not how about a 1.9 gas muffler and brackets ?

Anything will work, depends on how good you are at fabricating, it won't bolt straight on.
