1y not revving
Hi all, Got the 1y into my van
The engine started first time on the button
but will not rev
Have changed the timing belt so i am thinking that I have probably got the timing slightly wrong. But can anyone think of anything else it might be? I am using the 1y pump and I drove the seat it came out of before taking the engine out.
Thanks in advance Richie

The two banjos that go to the pump inlet and outlet - its vital they are the correct way round. The inlet banjo is the largest of the two (looking at the hole on the inside of the banjo).
I got these mixed up once and i couldnt rev either.
Its probably not that but its worth a look!
Does it sound rubbish when ticking over or sound normal?

Re: 1y not revving
Will have a look tomorrow I used the banjos off the cs so maybe the diameters on the 1y ones are different or like you say I might have them mixed up.
Thanks for the response

Re: 1y not revving
was just wondering how you fixed this as the other week i was tinkering with my 1y throttle lever on the pump to see if i could modify it better ,tightened it up it wouldnt rev
.anyway i noticed that the lever spindle actually moved in and out and i think if its in the ' in ' posistion it wont rev..i think
anyway i undid it and tried again and it was fine..was just wondering ,thats all

Re: 1y not revving
im still using the old back box with the downpipe i made up..the one in the photos.its seems a lot better than before and im happy with it.the other week i had a look at the exhaust mounts and found that one of them didnt have any bolts in it
..theres 3 of em ,if you havent looked.anyway the one at the right of the exhaust wasnt very clever so i swapped it for the one that fits at the other end on the top and its even quieter now, before i had a funny noise when i de-celerated and it was the one with the bolts missing that was flapping about.
when i get some cash to spare i wouldnt mind getting some stainless and having another go at it but untill then ill stick with the mild steel one

Re: 1y not revving
also...i was toying with the idea of using exhaust wrap on the mild steel one..but i dont know if it is water repellant or not..anyone know?
E D I T...hmm just thought about this and i think..even if it did get wet it would dry out within a min as the downpipe gets very hot...doh!!
