They seem to have gone away ever so slightly from the open tread traditonal mud pattern. I'm sure they know what theyre doing.

These have been out for about 36months now but not available in europe as yet unless imported by individual companeys at a high cost. Not from BF. They have not been european approved yet.

Clive, give M&M Tyres on Marsh Barton Exeter a try.

A mate bought a set of 5 all terrains recently for a very reasonable amount of money. iirc it was about £450-£500 for a set of 5.

Good news and bad news on the MT front.

The bad news......
215/75/15 is no longer a popular size any more but will still be made, less frequently and in smaller batches as the utility companies move to 16" tyres as wheel sizes increase with new vehicles.
The MT as we know it today is being phased out and the new MT2 will take over.
My pal who is the Irish BFG importer is now out of the old MT size as the 'Suzuki boys' bought up his entire stock of 215/75/15 over the last two weeks.

The good news ......
I will have 2 sets (8) of the new MT2 available to me on Friday and another 4 sets by week 3 in August. The price I will be paying is about 100 Euro each but this might change a little.
I have 2 unused and 4 slightly (500 miles) used 215s fitted on new Mefro rims which I can sell if someone really wants to stick with the older tyre. I can then move to the newer MT2. PM me if interested. :ok

Re: BFG mud type 2 - available with prices

Post by syncropaddy »

The first batch of 215/75/15 MT2 are now in and priced at €100 each which is £86.25 in Sterling. 235/75/15 are also available at €110 each. If you want some let me know so i can book them and get them over to vanfest. Dave bought the first set already.

REMEMBER 215/75/15 is an endangered species.

Wonder if the KM2's are going to be for any of this lower rolling resistance stuff? I'd emagine in the current climet they'd be looking to improve that first, maybe without much if any off road improvement (though it would be unwise to reduice this factor). There is talks in the EU of rating all tyres and possubly setting a limit on what tyres can be - could that be the end of the road legal agressive mud tyre (super car people have rased eyebrows too)? What will utility companys do, just stop putting pipes and wires off road? Hopefully when it happens it won't be completely thortless ill written blanket legislation but then...
