1.9 & 2.1 backbox - the same?

the mot man, he say its time for a new backbox.

short of re-mortgaging, i can't find a backbox/silencer for my 1.9 dg for under £90.

this cheap biscuit tin might get me on the road again? its for a 2.1 but a lot of stainless jobbies say they replace 1.9 & 2.1 - is that because they have the same mounting positions on the block or are the parts pretty interchangeable?

Looks a bit short to me so I think its for the catalyzer equiped 2.1 engines...

Ah.. read the table at the bottom it is...

The 2.1 DJ one is the same as the "late" style DG...

and a quick run outside into the rain reveals i do indeed have a single entry tailpipe

GSF No 20024 for a post 86

give that to GSF and you'll get a silencer that fits

yep, 20024 is the later one, the others are different qualities of the earlier system.
