Fuel Filling

Post by spindrift »

Hello.....

Can anyone help, everytime I fill my van with Petrol to the top, it always has about 50p worth running onto the floor at the other side. It doesn't leak at any other time, maybe I should just put if £40 everytime it gets low.

Had same problem. Just replaced breather pipes as already mentioned with new fuel pipe of same diameter. Bit of a fiddle but took 10 mins tops and no more spilt fuel - yippee :D

Bear in mind top of the tanks also rot away, but with that small amount leaking tis' probably breather pipe or grommet.

From my experience of this happening is that there is a good chance the balance pipe on top of the front of the tank is faulty, possibly one of the two three way connectors at each front corner of the tank is broken off. Mine broke because the balance pipe was assembled under the water pipes instead of above and raising the tank caused a strain on the connectors. Fraid it 's a tank out job which is not as bad as you might think. also fraid that the connectors are not available new and its search the breakers time.
