She's gone in

Post by plymat »

Took the van in last week to the body shop for the paint job. All rust to be sorted and new paint to be applied sticking to the standard white and will add new stripes once she returns.
Popped in to have a look yesterday and take some photo's and I was shocked, all stripped out including glass, bumpers and even the gutter channels were off! Going back in on Friday for another peek and take some more pics.
Cant wait for the fianl result now too.

Piccies will be available on my website (address below) hopefully I can get some at each stage, going in 1-2 a week.
Job scheduled for 3 weeks, bit of an 'as and when' job to keep price down a bit but still going to be around £800 including some new panels, the previous owner put a couple of dents in it!

wicked write up mate very interesting
my van is identical to yours but not high top pop top and that stripe took me and the missus and 2 hair dryers 2 days to get of nightmare but makes a hell of a differenc3e to the eye
my rust is not as bad as yours (well i hope not) but im a bit of a perfectionist like my van to look top dollar
ive got 18"RS4s on mine they were made for these vans suit it like a rust rash
£800 for the spray is good mate and replacing some panels sweet!
ive had mine gassed at xmas GASURE UK (1.9 wbx) makes a hell of a difference to wallet i save around £30/40 a week best £800 ive ever spent and gettin it all back in 6 mths is a bonus and then cheap motoring keep updating the site will check in now and again all the best and hope to see you at some shows cant miss my van

Any pics of yours anywhere?
Interested in the gassing as it costs a small fortune in petrol! Will look into that at vanwest.
Website will be updated as as much as possible.

It is looking better, going in tomorrow to check it out again and take some more pics, hoping to get it back before the Easter weekend to go away in it.
