 Flippin' eck...just had all my brakes done on my 86 1.6 Diesel (new discs/calipers/pads/pipes/bearings) and when I picked her up from garage she wouldn't start. Managed to get a tow start and she fired up OK and cruised brilliantly home at 67mph (yes you read that right ! :o 67mph!).
Anyway, just tried her again..same problem...engine turning over but not firing. Starter motor and battery both good. Garage chap said that timing belt seemed loose and we weren't convinced fuel was coming through the injectors when turning over ? It was running fine until now, although had to replace both V belts last week. If the diesel pump was knackered would it still have run once tow started?? Will go and have another look over it but any advice (as always) much appreciated.
Feeling really fed up as this may force us to commence divorce proceedings with our beloved van and all things that are good with the T25 community as our piggy banks are empty after the repairs!!

Thanks everyone

Hey Nick...you're a bleedin star mate. I'll give her the once over tomorrow and see if I can narrow it down. I'd be gutted to give up on the van after splashing so much cash at it. I'll PM you on how it goes ( and if I can learn to PM :? )

Cheers

Well...had a wee look at her this morning using the fab guide under the diesel engines -diagnosis section. Fuel filter OK, diesel getting to injectors OK, glow plug fuseable strip - knackered. So 44 pence later and she's starting perfectly :D Cripes...it's enuff to do your head in eh !! Thanks again for the advice Nick....will contemplate logistics of getting cambelt done soon. I'll PM you or if that don't work..drop me an email - I think it's on my Personal Info.

Roll on till the next 'incident'

It amazes me how much of a bugger to start these engines are with even minor glow plug problems. Glad you got it running.
