Early Fuel Filler Pipe

Post by holeydub on 4wheels »

On a couple of the final jobs before the vans on the road, took the fuel filler pipe of yesterday and noticed its not in too great a shape...

It has the standard rubber pipe section at the bodywork end (which definatley needs changing) but its not the early narrow plastic pipe thats on my earlier devon (which im breaking) it turns out that its a larger steel one. In fact its larger than the diesel filler neck (got a spare diesel tank and tried that idea out)

So my question really is are they still available anywhere or maybe does anyone have a spare or worst case is it going to be a tank and the filler neck change for another type?

Oh its a 1980 Aircooled Transporter
