Gear Stick Adjustment

Post by SeanW »

Hello,

The gear stick on my '89 1.7TD 5 Speed gear box is annoyingly close to the radio, so was wondering if it's possible to adjust the position of the gear box to lean the stick further back?

Thanks!

Have a look at the UJ conection in the middle of the change rods.. you should be able to loosen the clamp a nd slide it out a fraction.. small amount makes a big difference... make sure you dont pull it off and missalign it as it wont get the gears then...

No short shifter wont "cure" the problem, but it can reduce symptoms....
