On my van the feed comes down as part of the loom which also feeds the driver's side headlight

Fuse number 12 on yours mate... last one on right of the main strip.... 8 Amp (white IIRC) Bloomin haynes list "typical dual horn" and I doubt its got that... as it was a cost option.... Going to check another drawing...

Not sure I have this right... but

Ignition on.. should be live feed to the horn and the button "earths" it...... Seem to remember this is how a motorbike was set up... no need for a relay (cost reduction)...

Now I will go a ncheck how my late T25 is done... early ones seem to be like that...

hi mate, you do need a relay cos the horn runs from a live feed,if you wire it direct then itl sound continuosly!the brown wire is the earth and brown\blue is the live, theyre the only two that come down and appear by the horn, horn has to be earthed to chassis and the relay, had same problem on mine and it was a dodgy earth causing it,theres also two clusters of earths to body behind the fuse panel in the glove,id clean and check them too, hope this helps. leroi :)

Stop confusing the guy.
There is no Relay. some folk add them for higher power horn and air horns, but VW never bothered.
The Horn gets a live feed when the ignition is on.
The earth (return) runs via the horn button to an earth (chasis) on the steeing gear box.
Check the connectors are clean.

hI Mate,

my horn gave up the ghost. Sterring wheel connections shot.

New direct feed to horn, and earth to chassis, and a little push button switch from maplins at a cost of around £2.00 - "push to make" the circuit, and the jobs sorted.

Drill hole in plastic dash, and just remember to tell MOT person where the horn push is!

OK.. I was right then..... live feed... with Ign on..

Should be 2 connections on the horn... as if it was earthed through the body it would be "tooting" all the time.... so horn could be US...
