I have got a T25 Lefthand dive 1.6 engine campervan with leisure drive conversion. She has been into the garage and had a service, e.g. oil, spark plugs etc. we picked her up on monday but now she has no ummph when travelling on the motorway and when coming to a stop she cuts out and won't start for a good hour later. She runs okay on A / B roads, but has no speed on the motorway. Has anybody any ideas where i can check now to rectify this. Is it hte timing that needs altering.
Thanks
Sluggish drive

Re: Sluggish drive
So this is a CT 1,6l 4-cyl. Flat4 air-cooled 79 to 82 37Kw / with 50bhp petrol?
I'm trying to understand how they can say that they haven't touched the timing when they would have presumably changed the points.
They would have had to set the Dwell Angle 47 to 52 degrees but don't quote me on that! and for every degree of dwell difference from the old points the timing alters proportionally. Also adviseable to use Bosch or Beru points as these are the only ones that are any good.
Plugs, air filter and fuel filter could also effect performance (again these should all have been changed)
And then there are tappet clearances (I'm assuming these are manual)! which again! if they were doing their job correctly they should have adjusted....these most definately can effect performance.

I was advised to use Beru, as apparently Bosch ones are now made in China and the quality is not what it was!

Re: Sluggish drive
Could be electronic ignition. Some 1.6's were produced with it and they wouldn't have had to have touched it but saying that, I would tend to agree with the above posts. It does sound like an ignition timing problem.
