Main lights dimming! Update to previous post...

Post by Helga »

Hi, earlier on I was asking about fog lights - but now things have changed slightly... I have discovered that when I have my full lights on, ie on high beam, and then turn my after market fog lights on, the high beam doesn't go out, it simply dims... plus the fog lights themselves produce only very little light! Now I took the grill off and found that the wires to the fog lights travel up the bulkhead and through a rubber gromet into the van... I haven't investigated further...

I am imagining though that since everything goes dim when they are turned on, there must be a problem with the wiring? Do you think somebody has simply spliced into the main light wiring somewhere and taken a spur to the fog lights at the front? They are certainly not usable anyway... I think it might be best just to remove them .. what do you think?

Again I'm answering my own post here... following the wires it turns out both fog lights were powere by spurs off the main lights - hence the dimming when you switched them on...

Which idiot did that eh!?

So, on to my next question and a new post....

I'm just talking to myself... lol :P
