I've currently not got an underslung water tank fitted to my van but would like to fit one.
I do have a whale water outlet similar to a caravan so I can have pumped water from a container outside of the van which is OK whilst on a site but means I then need to take water with me when I go out.
I'm not looking to fit a massive tank, just one to hold enough water for a day or two.
I'm just about to download the Cak Tank catalogue but a pointer to which tanks will fit and exactly what type of pump I need would be great.
I'm also hoping not to have to drill any more holes in the bodywork to fit the filler cap, I had though of fitting it behind the number plate flap. Can anyone see any problems doing this or suggest an alternative location.
cheers

I'm using something similar but it seems silly having tap and then using a container

Re: Fitting a water tank
I fitted one from the CAK range some years ago, the one you need is the 'Small VW'. This fits perfectly between the chassis rails.
The pump i used was also from there and is an 'inline' one rather than a submersible, a problem i had at first was that i fitted it above the level of the tank and had trouble priming it. Once moved so that it was level with the bottom of the tank it stays primed by virtue of gravity.
As for not cutting holes in the bodywork i simply fitted the filler on the opposite side to the fuel cap, i guess you could fit one on the inside of the wheelarch by the seatbelt mount.
By the way you need to specify where you want the inlet/outlet fitted to the tank as they come blank.
Hope this helps.

Re: Fitting a water tank
I got rid of the water tank from mine, it was under the rear seat/bed and was MASSIVE. I've now got a smaller one under the sink, using the same pump, and will fill it by taking it to the tap rather than having to drive to the tap which is often very muddy (at festivals anyhow)
