engine type And question

Post by callanish »

Hi
i have heard folk talk about dg sd gb engines or something like that  .How can i tell what type mine is(where should i look) and what does it mean. I have had a look on Wiki but if its there i cant find it.
the other question i have is on my 2.1 petrol whatever engine round the inside edge of the hole where the cover goes is a smallish metal pipe with several branches off it one leads to the main coolant bottle ...what are all these branches off for ?

thanks

andrew

Look at the base of the breather tower (black plastic tower behind the alternator) as a 2.1 it'll start with DJ, MV or SS then a number.

This is the 'bleed ring' which allows air to be bled from the various engine bay components and back into the header tank.
