Hi hope you can help,
we were thinking of putting in a leisure battery in our t25 left hand drive westfalia. Our main Battery appears to be under the passenger seat on the right which i can see easily. i have tried to move the drivers seat forward enough to lift the hatch but can't seem to do it !!
has anyone else had similar difficulties? The manual suggests moving it forward or turning the chair 180 degrees But this is impossible with the steering wheel there!!
Any ideas? Many thanks- ps we are quite inexperienced
What do you mean by your "main battery".
What engine are you running?
Leisure battery (completely stuufed) in our bus is located in the cab under the drivers seat (We are also left hookers) only other battery should be in the engine bay tucked away to the right as you look from the rear.
van is petrol so i think main battery is the one under the passenger seat.
I can slide the seat forward but the swivel base which the seat sits on block the compartment, can see that its hinged so surely must be designed to be able to lift?
You will need to remove the swival base using an allen key. You have to rotate the swivel base so you can get to two of the allens and then rotate it the other way to get to the other two

Swivel base is easy to remove..4 X 8mm nyloc lock nuts.
Leisure battery is the one behind the drive on a L/H/D westy petrol so starter battery therefore behind passenger seat.
