Heater control cabel where can i get a new one?

HI folks although i'm now well informed via various posts on here how the heater control cable works and where it goes to from the dash I'm having a devil of a time trying to get a replacement for my knackered one.

My heater is stuck on hot which isn't to pleasant so need to get this sorted asap.

All the usual suspects can't help even our local main VW dealer said it's not available any more.

Do you think it's a 2nd hand job here and if so any ideas?

PS did any one here go to Dubs In the Park at Bracknell on Sunday? quite enjoyed my self though it was never a good idea to follow 2 Beetle thinking they knew the way only for them to go seperate ways about a mile away from the site.
I followed one and hoped for the best. Lost him at the lights, panicked turned round to see the other Beetle go past me the way I'd just been going!!?? the rest was like a keystone cops film. Got there in the end though.

are you sure it snapped... it has a kink in the wire over the internal knob bit... my cable disconnected but when I reconnected it the "other end" was a bit seized. be careful you dont put a new cable in and do exactly the same thing with the new cable too.

hi i have just broke a early caravelle i would think that i have a spare cable i am in milton keynes so not far away i will have a look for you tomorrow is it the one you need the long one which goes from the slider on the dash to the valve under the van floor

Cheers Clarts i will check the state of it now but i think it had been botched previously when i took it to a garage? they made a cable up that was to short so i couldn't move it full across. I think they they dealt with the other end at the time.

Hi Pete I'd be very interested in the cable if it's available. Pretty sure that's the one. It comes from the the middle slider.
Just checking my T25 is a c reg water cooled if that makes any difference.

HI Pete hows tricks. Sorry if you have recieved this as private message already.

Back in May you kindly sold me a heater control cable back in may. Finally round to fitting it but my mechanic man said the clip that attaches it to the heater valve is missing. No doubt the result of a previous botch up job. I was just wondering if you had any parts left i.e. this one at all.

hi check your pm
but there is a kink in the cable and that just goes through the hole on the leaver at the heater no clip needed that i know of
