Hi,
Does anybody know where I can get a camshaft for a 1981 Aircooled, CU 2 litre with hydraulic tappets.
I have one on back order at VW Heritage but the date keeps slipping.
The engine is bits and I would like to get back on the road before the summer ends.
Thanks
Brian

I have dealt with both these companies and they were first class.

If you still have no luck, http://www.johnmaherracing.co.uk/type4.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; have a very good reputation.
A slightly 'warm' cam does a lot of good in a standard type 4 engine. Lee of la Performance should have different options.
Good luck

Re: Camshaft for CU Engine
whs /\/\/\/\/\ but you will need to go to solid tappets. a very worthwhile mod too, stick some decent carbs on ( delorto drla or weber idf / ida) and it will be a real beast but will retain decent mpg too
