28th June - TYRO/playday, pics and vid preview

Open invitation from the Lincs Off Road club (LOR) for syncros's (and others) to attend a TYRO (Try Your Rover Out/Turn Your Rover Over) trial... (should be non damaging etc) at "Stainby" which is just off the A1 at Colsterworth.
This site has plenty of challenges and has been used for the national "compsafari" events....

Trying to see about camping the night before but I have a feeling its booked...
Could pitch up at my place.. if we are sensible I reckon we can have 9 or 10 "pitches" (camper or tent) in my garden....

Very reasonable costs for the day... and should be a good event...

I have been informed that they will prob set up the trial course, run it once or twice to conform with regs..... then go play...
Lots of interesting stuff... shold have some pics in 2 weeks as I am going there (May 31st, might be able to sneak 1 or 2 other syncro's in if you want to come then...)

I am not expecting it to be over subscribed with landies, as its the weekend of the landrover show at Driffield...
Turnout might be low.. hence the encouragement for us syncro's... I'd like them to see/experience some other "flavours" of syncro to

Now then...
Been there today and what a cracking site... lots of varied stuff, loads and loads of routes...

The trials were set for the landies and a couple of fourtracks... of course I had to give it a try and actually completed the 2 runs of each trial to the amazement of most there... a couple of spots were.... er.... very challenging... and I even got a round of applause at one point and several people shaking my hand at the end of the day for getting it round.... it did take a little bashing though (front bumper of course... a mod or 2 needed.....)

Trying to find out if camping is poss the night before... nice field and should be water and toilets (not sure how clean they'll be, but I I'll even clean em.... if need be... )

Oh what they have said was that they would set 2 trial routes... run them once and then free to play... Maybe if we can camp over we can organise a seperate thing via us to cover any insurance issues??? then could poss play that eve too...
