High oil pressure
Sorry for being a pain in the ar5se of late but vw garage say my oil pressure is too high which could be the cause of the buzzzer and oil light coming on above 2000rpm. they have removed the oil pressure relief valve and the plunger is in good nick but they say the spring is a very tight fit and hard (but do-able) to put back in. They think that someone may have changed the spring in the past. Does this sound feasable that this could cause high oil pressure? if so , help.... the spring is now obsolete. (i put a posting in the wanted section for one)

Re: High oil pressure
The DOP's (buzzer of doom') tests for low oil pressue not high. I am guessing here but the spring, having compressed under a higher than normal pressure, could be binding in the bore and not returning the relief valve onto the seat. This would result in low pressure and the buzzer will sound. The only way you will know is to replace it. Have you tried syncrospares or some of the 'breakers' that are often mentioned? (also engine rebuild specialists as mentioned in your other post)
