Heat exchanger??

Hi,

Cant get wiki to work!!so here is my question does anyone know how much of a job a heat exchanger is to do on a 2.0 Aircooled t25 x reg,is it for a novice and how much is this part???

My friend may be getting a van but it has this problem,I know very little on this so can anyone help??

Dave, it all depends upon how well the securing nuts come apart, best bet is dowse all the nuts with penetrating oil for a day or so before you tackle the job.

Heat exchanges are hard to find and can be expensive so look at alternatives such as 'J' pipes as an option.....

hi dave.

exchangers on a large auction site are currently 225 each :shock:

as fritz said, the biggest bind is getting the old ones off without shearing the studs. something ive got to do myself at some point. if everything goes well and nothing snaps off then it doesnt look like a huge job. definately lots of scope for gettin your eyes full of rust though.

Sacrifice the nuts by drilling them off and fit new ones :ok
