how can I tell if my high top van is a panel van conversion?

The windows are the giveaway. Campers based on the microbus or caravelle have windows all round and these are "flush" with the bodywork. Whereas converted panel vans tend not to have windows all round and aftermarket windows(because of the seals) stand slightly proud of the body. If you post a picture we can give you a definitive answer....I hope that's not to confusing. Mark

PS....van has windows all round but also has seals with the inserts!

Not true. Auto-Sleepers have windows all round as do Autohomes campers. :)

caravelles have seals with inserts also......
the definitive answer is with the pictures.

Yep, conversion like mine
Rust like mine.

The good news is the rust on a flush window should be easier to sort, than on a recessed window
