Rear panel

The one where the engine is at the back of the van.

Does mine which is a diesel need the vent holes cut in it?
I was thinking of filling them in and fitting quarter bumpers to give a smoother line

helps with air flow for the Aircooled originally but also helps flow of air over the exhaust dissipate...obviously less of an issue with the diesel cos they filled all the gaps around the engine with sound deadening to shut it up so I'd guess the answer is block them and see...try gaffertape first, see if engine temp is ok, and then weld if ok, imho
