Autohomes Kameo high top window seal

Post by klinion »

Hi,
Have a 1991 Autohomes Kameo conversion with a high top. The window seal has perished and I am having trouble finding a replacement rubber. A previous post mentioned "claytonright" and I have found a firm selling such but have no idea which seal is the right one. Any ideas please? Ken

Our Kameo has "caravan" style opening windows in the hightop.
The window seal is standard caravan type stuff. It comes in different widths to suit the thickness of the body.
Measure the thickness of the body or better still take a section of the seal and head for your local caravan dealer.
White plastic strip covers staples which hold the seal in. Soapy water or furniture polish on the rubber help when refitting the strip.
New rubber may well come with sealant already applied to it.

GREAT, thanks Richard. I ended up taking it to a local garage who has bodged it hoping it doesn't leak. It is in for MOT today so I'll use a hose on it later. If it leaks your advice will be followed up. Off to France/Spain sometime soon so if we have problems there I will have the seal with me. Thanks again, Ken

If you get stuck and/or it leaks again give me a shout. I have replaced my autohomes roof with one from Timber Techs and have two spare windows. rubber seals and the fittings. One of the windows is brand new too.
