my plan to remove the hammerite paint from my interior units is only half working! comes off some surface ok, on others it's trickier to remove and the scraping damages the wood effect plastic laminate underneath. Ideally I'd like to keep the good sections and cover the not so good with matching laminate. Now, i know it'll probably be tricky to find an exact match but worth looking. Have any of you got any suggestions where i might find the stuff? - sticky roll of wood effect plastic/laminate/vinyl to stick on. Most of my google searches find 99% websites selling laminate or vinyl flooring.
Have a look a the pics below.
thanks!

Even tells you how to apply it! Maybe not the original company/material after all these years but a good start. Don't know how this compares to Fabron (possibly the same material, but I'm no expert!). My Van has had the original replaced (or just recovered) with some sort of similar covering but in a red wood colour - it was either done badly or the covering was not designed to last.
Either way, come the end of the summer we might try to recover ourselves.
Hope this helps.....

Thanks for the help guys, just the kind of info I'm after!
Bideford, thanks for the thorough tip off re Alkor. Great that you've managed to get info from the Autohomes manual. Was that from your kamper? mines an 83 model and I think they changed the units over the years. Still, I had a look at the website and i'm hopeful that there will be a close match on there.
now I'd better get looking for some flooring!

Thanks again. I've been looking at the alkor website and looks quite promising that i'll find a match there - hopefully they'll be able to sort sending some over to the UK - looks like they don't sell directly themselves. I'll update on here when I know for all those interested.
Another solution found via 80 90

Let me know how you go on - I would be interested to see if there is a difference in quality between the B&Q Fablon and the Alkor. I would suspect that Alkor only sell in wholesale so a UK supplier would need to be found. Focus also do Fablon but not in light oak.
I would be interested in trying the Alkor Oak pale if it can be found - maybe split the cost if they have a minimum order?

sure, i'll let you know how i get on. i'm assuming they'll either direct me to one of their suppliers but from the website the only seem to have them on mainland Europe.
Fingers crossed someone stocks it in the UK

I finally managed to get though to an international representative for Alkor. She was very helpful and said that while they are a wholesale company they will send small batches to people via a registered company. they will chage for the shipping costs but they shouldnt be too much. Roughly speaking the vinyls work out at approx 1 euro 50 per metre.
i'm holding off on ordering at the mo while i try and find out what the actual name of the vinyl is that they used in the early Autohomes Kampers. from looking at their catalogue it could easily be 3 or 4 and it would be too expensive to order them all.
if anyone wants to contact the re ordering the contact i have is belw. she was helpful and spoke very good english. On the whole Alkor have a much wider range that Fablon.
Hi wondering how people got on with this one. I have 89 Autohomes Komet and the plastic is brittle and peeling in a few places - the problems areas being where there are mouldings. Looking for something reasonable and easy to apply. Thanks
