Blowing fuse on my split charger

The fuse on my split charger keeps blowing. It only runs the stereo and amp. The fuse that's in the unit is the clear plastic one with 25 printed on it, the split charger system is the one that JK sell, I think it's Hella.
Can anyone shed any light on why this keeps happening?

No it seems to be completely random, I get in the van and turn the radio and amp on, drive. Every couple of weeks the fuse blows. God knows why.

Either an intermittent fault in the wiring somewhere or the fuse is getting hot and eventually goes open. Couple of thoughts...


1. Look at the fuse link and see if it has completely disappeared or does it look as though it has got a break in it? A short circuit will completely blow the fuse link away. Slight surge or over currents usually look like a break in the link. If it looks like a complete blow away then you need to check the wiring.


2. is the relay disengaging when you switch the engine off and is it wired to the alternator. If not disengaging or wired to the ignition (rather than alternator) then the leisure battery will try and help the starter battery and the fuse will get hot and eventually rupture.

By the way, how loud is the amp in watts and are you sure it aint that?

WHS ^ @ no. 2 and also is your leisure battery flat as a pancake and the alternator is trying to wack 40+ amps through the relay?
