Hi just wondering when I set the tappet clearance do I push the Pushrod in and let it gently fall back to its resting position and the set the gap or do I push the Pushrod all the way in and hold it in and then set the gap?
Thx.

Re: When setting the tappets....?
to reset Hydraulic tappets I run the engine up for about 5 mins
this gets the tappet pumped up
when the tappets to be adjusted are at the compression stroke I back them off untill the rocker moves freely
then using my finger and thumb, screw in the adjusting screw till it stops on the valve head.
then taking a screwdriver tighten the screw a further two turns to pre load the tappet.
that is how I do it, as it works for me
others may not put so much preload in.
