You will basically have to strip most of the door from the inside, as the main window glass will have to come out, as will the seals, so that you can remove the upright for the quarter light.

A helper would come in handy (at least briefly), when handling the main window. Be careful with the thin plastic film inside thwe door card, don't damage that.

got the quarter light out but having trouble fitting the new one with the glass. The old one I took the metal channel off but I can't do that with this one. I'm running out of ideas here, I've had the main glass tilting this way and that but I still can't get the quarter light in. I've also had the quarter light in first then can't get the main glass in.

Maybe it needs to be persuaded to move in the forward postion with a few taps with a rubber mallet?

I was only helping when mine were fitted and I do remember some well placed karate chops to get the quarter glass and frame into place

Hello there, sorry to hijack thread, but...

I've had my van vandalised & a standard quarterlight was smashed (my offside one, as it goes)

The original glass is already out

Is is still a strip-door job to fit standard quarterlight glass? I'm thinking of just getting some perspex cut from a mate of mine & fit that using the original frame.
