Steerng wheel is locked and I've tried wd40.

Damsel in distress...I've just spoke to her also.....It's well and truly jammed...I've even told her to undo the clamping bolt for the steering lock as these sometimes move marginally, that did'nt help either.....next step really is to take out the ignition barrel and try the key, simple job just one screw unplug the wires and it's should come free easily...get the key working and your back on the road...

Re: Urgent help! Key won't turn!!
Thanks everyone for advice and phone calls. You're all amazing!
Well after 3 hours the key just turned! Ureka!
Off we set and gears where a bit dodgy in first n second but we got here and pitched up all good. Key still turning and secured with a hair band.
Went to the beach today no drama. Gears still tricky but they worked.
Got back to camp and couldn't get out of reverse then I stalled and the key locked again. Ended up pushing the van back onto the pitch. At which point a knob sort of thing dropped off the bottom of the gear box!
I'll be calling recovery in the morning and attempting to get home before the bank holiday mentalness.
I dunno!!!!!!
Hey ho, we've had a coupl of good days.
No idea how/where I'm gonna get her fixed!
Thanks Rev, you're a legend.

Re: Urgent help! Key won't turn!!
Well, we're home now!
Apparently the thing that dropped off was the gear locator - which explains a lot as I couldn't find any gears yesterday LOL.
The recovery guy was great, really keen to get me going and started hot wiring the ignition and telling me he could rig the gear box so I could manually select gears etc.
I pointed out I wasn't too comfortable doing that with a 3.5yr old child along for the ride so they booked me a truck.
What a fantastic truck, 2 cabs and a lovely driver and all closed in at the back. Wonderful I thought. Only they'd not really noticed the pop top so it wouldn't fit LOL.
Called a flat bed and we finally got underway about 5ish. Another superb guy who managed to get the truck down my street and get Tink off the back into my usual park - amazing.
Took heaps of pictures and kept the campsite fully entertained today.
So now I need a couple of new parts and try to fit 'em myself or find someone to do it. The battery is a bit dead too which surprised me tbh.
Hopefully will get it done in time for the Fox & Goose meet in May.
Apart from all that we had a fantastic time and really really enjoyed ourselves.
The awning worked okay-ish altho disapointed the figure of 8 thingy wasn't in the bag - will ring them this week about that. The thermo pads were brilliant.
The final challenge was the 2am vomiting in her sleep child. I knew that fruit bowl was a good idea.
Surely I can do anything now right?
