Well the alternator has given up the ghost so I need to get a new one, I'd like to get one with higher output level. What would people recommend? My van's a 1.7d

If you're better than the leading brand, why aren't you the leading brand?

Re: New alternator for a diesel
i've just had mine replaced, i have a 1.9TD.
i don't know if the uprated output has any benefit for a camper, with split charging systems etc. someone will be along in a minute to tell us. but my man in the know suggested the standard 65A unit was perfectly OK, so i saved myself the extra cash.
I know JK and GSF do recon units but i got mine locally for about £70+VAT. cheaper than the going rate...
