Post by horizontal kipper »

Did the wd40 test around carb manifold and found that i have a loose manifold stud, tried tightening it down to 15lb ft but it pulled out of the head  do GSF sell oversize studs? what would be the size i need to ask for as i dont see it on the web site. Thanks

A helicoil insert is your first option as these are a very good when threads are shagged,,,,,,,,,your local motor engineer should be able to sort this problem for you.

Thanks sorted it today. Never thought of helicoiling it, i had a lenght of m10 threaded bar so cut a bit the same lenght ground the thread off half of it and re tapped it to m8 and re tapped the hole in the head to m10 no leaks now :D
