No tick over after fast running

My T25 1.6TD starts fine and ticks over initially but when its been cruising for a while and you slow down it will stall between gear changes. Even when you re start it it is not happy ideling. Any ideas please

If it stalls between gear changing when running and its warmed up my first instinct would be fuel starvation, When did you last change your fuel filter??. Have you tried unsrewing knurled plastic tap at the bottom of fuel filter possibly water in the canister? Can you see air bubbles in the clear return pipe from the pump. Also check the air filter, is it breathing heavy, spray a bit of WD around the throtle linkages on the pump, Check all the items that I have listed for you the get back to us and let us know what the outcome was---------------

i had same prob with my 2.0 AC and the mechanic changed filters and stripped and cleaned the carbs! now its 100% (for now)
