final drive gasket
hi anyone know the part number for final drive sump gasket on a 1990 2.1 dj auto (its a cork one) sent the wife to our local vw agents for one but they were useless .

Hi,
Can you tell me if this gasket requires sealant. I am assuming no, but wanted to ask the experts. Planning on creating a new one from scratch as they are difficult to get in Australia. I am assuming they are made from the standard cork/rubber gasket compound?

doesn't require sealant but a smear of hylomar blue is helpful when positioning said gasket while getting it all back togthere before gently torquing the bolts up
