I keep getting the horn

Post by el sketcho »

Every time I turn the steering wheel the horn sounds and yet when I want to use it nothing happens. Anyone got any ideas?

The spade terminal may of come off inside the steering wheel and got trapped so when you turn the corner it makes contact ?

Had exactly the same problem...and highly embarrasing! caused by the copper contact covering on the slip ring breaking up and flaking so replaced the parts and 'viola'... noise when required! Check your ring el sketcho

right thanks for all the suggestions, I think I've found the culprit, one of the screws that hold the plastic terminals in place had come loose. Screwed it back in and it seems to have done the trick. So I won't have to lube my ring, looks quite lubed as it is :ok .

Hobopatch I think you put copper grease around your ring
