Lots of people are using 16" ML mercedes alloys. Advantages are they come off a very heavy car & very reasonable on ebay. You will need to fit longer studs all round & have the alloys bolt holts opened up. No sure about ET's or spacers.
Hope it helps

Syncros from 1985 model year first chassis for syncro actually built 1st october 1984, how long before those chassis went through Graz and out for Westfalia-ing or sale I don't know.
That's the sort of geek facts I'd love to know and surely somewhere there is information on how the chassis were built up and how they were transported between sites and there must be some pictures of Graz production facility somewhere too....anyone found any on any sites anywhere ?
I'm guessing they went by train from Hanover to Graz given the volumes involved but does anyone know, similarly how did the kombi shells get to Westfalia to be camperised/multivanned, and were the multivans actually completed at westfalia or at Hanover does anyone know ?

I was looking into alloys to my 16" kombi and Syncro Carravelle (have actually bought 2 sets of Merc ML's) but you do need to fit longer studs all round to alter the ET. Only go for 6.5" alloys as the others will be a bit on the large side to fit. You will also need to fit spacers to alter the ET. It is v important to get the ET back to measure between 30 and 39mm (see Brickyard for advice and details on how to do it). I am re-thinking what to do at the mo. Hope this helps.

Have a good look at EBay.de and see whats available. Look at Ronal and Arc alloys. They are usually 7x15 and have the right ET and bolt straight on

I bought some AMG Replicas., 15x7, about 7 years ago, made by Star from memory, I think. ET37 as well - bolted right on no probs! In fact, I like them so much I still have them in the shed... But Steels are the new Alloy..

I have a set of AMG Penta alloys 8x16 sitting in my shed. They need a refurb but cant make up my mind to put them on the Syncro with 235/60/16 or put them on my 300SE or even my 230TE.

Not sure if steels are the new alloys but I also have a set of 6 Mefros with BFG MT on ..... just in case
