Lost revs, engine died then all fine!

Post by TravellingChick »

Had a good run yesterday and no probs with engine so far.

Got about 3 miles underway this morning and the revs died off and battery light came on. Jumped it in 2nd while still rolling and revs picked up then dropped and died again. Happened several times and then I was in traffic so had to stop.

Engine started fine and revs all came back continued rest of 7 mile journey without a hitch!

I'm puzzled, any ideas?

Thanks Steve. I filled up yesterday arvo then had 20 mile trip home without a hitch.

Will see how she goes heading home later.

Funny but my car doing same but only in reverse just after starting!

Was it wet when it happened? Mine used to play up in the rain, and like Mocki says it was bad fuel. Water got in through a split rubber on the filler pipe. New pipe, new fuel filter, drained some of the manky fuel out after leaving it standing for a day or two, all was well.

Nope, it was a beautiful sunny day and we've not had any real rain for a few days.

Drive home was sterling, got caught in the rugby traffic and took 2 hour to make a 20 minute journey - all well without a hitch.
