I've used Interparcel a lot and had no problems with them. They just seem to act as a broker and you get to choose which sevice suits you best from DHL, City Link etc.
If you register an account with them you get 5% off too

I have a parcel sat next to me to be collected by DHL tomorrow lunch time, booked through Interparcel for £9.75 + VAT (with discount 5%) for Wednesday delivery. To book direct online with DHL for the same sevice costs £14.95 upwards.

Like I say, So Far, no complaints

I actually work in this field in a professional capacity.

On the whole Royal Mail offer the best deal up to a certain weight although tend to push customers towards special delivery which can really clock up if item is heavy. For small (low value) items you can get away with recorded delivery. After that, Parcelforce can sometimes work out cheaper when item is heavy plus they have tracking. Interparcel are good, plus theres a new kid on the block that haulage companies (who often do return journeys empty) have signed up to. They can usully find a truck or van on route that will collect/deliver for you - http://www.shiply.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - members bid on delivering your item - can save a fortune shifting anything biggish. Another is Boxby.

Hope that helps

Just remember that although theres more choice now, many carriers won't touch you unless you pre-book 100 or so parcels so the above is the best I can suggest on one-offs.

No prob. One other you could try is http://www.payperparcel.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Shiply are great for sending panels, engines about etc - very cheap.
