General Purchase Advice & Seating

Post by Strawhead »

We are looking to purchase any model of camper really

Hi All

We know very little about these style of vehicles. We have one major stumbling block, we have four children and really want them to come with us when we travel and camp. so any purchase will need to have room to sit the little treasures. to date i have not seen a T25 that caters for so many persons.

Does any one have any advice with regards to sitting so many children and what sort of style camper might be best suited for us. Sleeping within the van is not a real problem as we have tents/ awnings etc.

Thank you for any assistance

Regards

Andy

A full width rear seat/bed is an option, there you can fit three children all belted up, and then find and fit a "buddy seat" that faces rearwards and fits behind the passenger seat.

This combined with a pop top that sleeps three and a cab bunk for another... you two are left with the biggest bed ever in a campervan :D

no need to sleep outside, it's a campervan, the tin is your tent!

hope this helps

I have an autohomes conversion which is a 3/4 rock n roll bed but I reckon you could get 3 littlies across that - am currently investigating seat belt options.

Mine has a buddy seat behind the passenger seat which faces forward or rear and I am fitting a 3 point harness on that seat.

The poptop is, allegedly, one of the biggest altho I might have to say a Viking would be bigger as I think you can actually sleep 4 up there but not 100% sure.

Depending on your budget, appetite and ability you could just focus on finding a solid van and then design your own interior that suits your family.

Happy hunting and welcome to the wonderful world of campervans! You've certainly picked the right marque!

Thank you very much for the helpful comments,

funnily enough we like the look of the Viking, as looks very roomy. Am sure with a bit of tinkering we will get it sorted, will let you know progress when we have some

again many thanks

You can fit 3 seat belts on a 3/4 rock and roll bed, but not 3 booster seats, so depending on the age of your children you prob would need a full width bench seat.
A mate of mine fits all 4 of her kids in the viking roof, she has an extra seat in the front, between her and hubby, and a buddy seat behind the passenger for child 4. When 3 don't need boosters though I think she wants to get normal front seating though cos she has to get out of the van and go round to see to kids in rear.
Good luck in your search, your kids are going to love you so much, mine think the camper is the best thing ever. I agree with them.

Off to look at a T25 Viking on Friday that is for sale.

Two of the children need special seats however the other two are tall enough not to require any boosters.

will just need to get someone to fabricate a little seat behind the front passenger seat so that we can affix one of the small childrens seats safely to it.

The older kids are really excited at the prospect and also seem to really like the Viking style.

will let you know what happens

again many thanks

Keep an eye on the For Sale board on this forum, a Viking just came on today for £2.5k.

I found my autohomes on Volkzone which Keet pointed me at along with preloved and campercrazy and don't forget evilbay LOL!

good luck with the viewing, it's all very exciting!

:ok
