respray csots & recomendations

Post by rikpal »

Looking to touch up some of the body work & will need to respray lower half of the sliding door side of van. Any one got any rocomendationsfor a body shop near macclesfield.
Also rough idea of cost for complete respray (i realise this is like asking how long is a piece of string), just trying to get an idea of whether I'm being ripped off or not when I go for quotes.

cheers

Hiya Rik, https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47857 shows the results from our respray, this was £1425 plus £60 towards a new windscreen cos it broke going back in. The guy who did it said he wouldn't do it for that price again as there was far more work than he'd expected and having the windows in/out was time-consuming.

Try PMing Rob (the Mod) he's in Macc and has a pet painting operative

Hope this helps, Ian.

There's a difference here

there's a respray and there's a restorative respray.
The first can cost anything from £800 up to no more than £1600 and the latter is all about the love of your van and the depth of your bottomless pit of money.

As the bottemless pit has become a lot shallower recently the basic respray is all for now, hopefully allowing some work on the interior as well.
thanks for the contact for Rob, we'll see what happens.

Thanks for advice , prices i've been given so far seem to be online, it's just nice to know that your not being ripped off
