Probably a ridiculous idea but..

Post by andisnewsyncro »

Just how stupid would it it be to front mount a spare wheel on our water cooled van?

I thought about it again having seen a few pictures and remembering my old bay all those years ago; then had a re-think when I remembered that I have a radiator these days.

Just can't quite (like no where near afford) a rear carrier. However a rear carrier would be cheaper than completely banjaxing my engine.
Any thoughts, or should I just leave well alone and keep a couple on the roof ??

it's been done, Terry's old syncro has it on bullbar, 2.1 MV, looked fugly imho despite them being nice quality bits, but roof drag problem, go on splash out on a couple of pete's carriers you know you want to

You're dead right there....

 If I take off the alloys and go onto steels I can sell the alloys and put that towards a carrier..... busy trying to sort my shed out too, loads of old s***e for ebay, I might just be able to make up the difference and justify it.....

Am I missing something or what's wrong with slinging the spare under the cab?

It wont fit because of the bull bar mountings, or at least it doesn't look like it will
