I bought something! Finally!!!!

Post by TravellingChick »

You will all be relieved to know that I have finally bought a campervan so, on one level, all my annoying questions will stop.

Unfortunately on many other levels I am sure I will be bugging you all mercilessly!

Anyways, I didn't buy according to my original game plan (in fact that was a T2 Bay 8 months ago!!) but I like what I've bought and I hope we're going to have lots of adventures without too much drama!

That's the same interior as mine (83 Autohomes) but Ive replaced the bed with new foam and covers. It smelled funny.

Yup pretty much. Getting a new MOT etc.

I want to put a 3 point seatbelt on the buddy seat and put in a cigarette lighter to run the sat nav. There's a strange "tray" type affair on the dash which I'm not sure if it's original or not. It has a mini-disc player too, about which I know nothing! I have an iPod docking station in my car so considering doing something similar but am loathe to start hacking into the dash for that. Daughter doesn't travel well without copious amounts of Disney Princess soundtrack and The Wiggles!

The bed (is still termed rock n roll altho it's not really THE same mechanism?) wasn't emmanating any whiffyness so think I'm good with that!

Happy Camper!

Smart looking van, good to see you got sorted. Just a suggestion to think about; the gas bottle cupboard needs to be vented in case of a leak from the bottle. The vent is usually a drop-out hole in the floor of the van. Noticed that your bottle is in a cupboard that is higher up. Is it still vented through the floor of the van somehow?

Hope you have lots of fun with your new van. :ok

Looking for: window apertures for side windows, at the back of the van

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check that when I go pick it up. There's space below the hob that's currently empty so perhaps that's where the gas bottle is supposed to be.

I love the colour too altho daughter is a bit miffed it is not pink

Mine's an86 Autohomes - my gas bottle is down next to the porta potti in the cupboard below and this should be vented to the floor.

This one doesn't come with the portapotti, might've been lost along the way?
