Vacuum pump head - where can i get 1?

Post by Mayor Goldie Wilson »

does anyone know where i can get a replacement top for my vacuum pump which feeds the brake servo.
Where the little one way plastic fitting sits the metal collar has separated from the body some how and so it does not make a good seal and when on idle my brake pedal goes... ermm hard!
it still brakes but there is no servo assist.

thanks,

has the metal collar come adrift from the top plate with the 3 studs holding it on?
if so unbolt the top plate and put the collar in a vice so you can see the underside of the top plate...not very tight tho or youll crush the valve ..and get a tapered punch and tap the metal tube that goes through the plate from the valve and open it up so its tight again in the hole,if this is kerackered then try some chemical metal to stick it in or some other metal glue..someone will know what to use on here to glue metal to metal

i think he has a 1.6td...i found out they were different when i swapped my 1.6 for a 1.9 and the 1.9 one was broke :(
i took the 1.6 one and used a drift to knock the valve out of the top plate then did the same to the broken 1.9 one and tapped the good one in the plate..but..it ws loose so i got a punch and opened it up and it worked a treat :D
