Newbie to brick ownership!

Post by illzlee »

Just like to say hello all as this is my first 'proper' post on here!
I've just aquired quite a tidy and bargain van IMO, thought i'd share the piccys as you will all be hassled for advice at some point!

saw this in my local free paper and thought, yes - i need a new daily that i can actually work on rather than the modern tripe i currently have.

Image

went to see it and end up getting quite a bargain, bought from a pastor of the church of 7th day adventists (not kidding)

looks tidy?

Image

Image

needs a good clean!

Image

blank canvas though?

Image

a pretty dry, 120K 1.9 dg with a good (verbal) service history and VAG parts all over it

Image

i'm almost too ashamed to say where my haggling got him down to... 2 owner, 1990 'H' panel van? sprayed 2 years ago but showing some seam scabs...

£1000?

£800?

try £620!!! :run

no-one likes a show off, but pure cheek got me down that low.

Anyhoo, plans include a hit from the lowering stick and thats about it as it's a daily. Unless a 2.2 scoobydoo legacy appears in the local rag too!

otherwise, a gratuitious piccy of the camper in my local scrapyard which kindly donated it's towbar and some other bits!

Image

oh, i'm Dan by the way :ok

You want to get that hose (with the blue insulting tape round it) swapped ... that's the hose from the pressure cap on the header tank to the top up/expansion cap. It's only a plain straight forward 6mm I.D. hose. :ok

Ian.

Many of the local reprobates are also members of Dubliminal, if you look at James's posts there's a link to them there. :ok

Every now and then we used to have a Derbys evening meet ... perhaps have another one pleasant evening outside a boozer somewhere :pimp

wondered who had stripped the van in Loomes

like a kid in a toy shop mate, it arrived as a 'shell' anyway apparently. Since then i've been scrambling over it at least 4 times and quite a few other people too! :rollin
