engine/gearbox compatibility

Post by VdoubleU »

Hi
Is it possible to swap a later 1.9dg waterboxer linked to a 5 speed box, for an early 1.9dg waterboxer currently linked to a 4 speed box. Or would I need to change to a 4 speed box aswell? :pimp
Liking it so far!

I think you need the "gate" below the gear lever, and the connecting rods

other than that, I think your ok

im not sure what you are asking here.........
the engines are the same......... the exhaust and cooling system are different, but all interchangeable.you can use either on both and mix
you can use either gearbox on either engine, but as matt said, you may have to change the gatebox and stick to go from a 5 to a 4 . But the header says engine to gearbox compatability.
