Drivers door lock

errr, just went to open the drivers door and give the van a run around the block and the the lock came out with the key.... ......i now can't lock that door. I can put the barrel back in the door but there doesn't seem to be enough resistance to be able to lock the door. Any advice how to quickly sort this out. I've checled Wiki but can';t find anything there?? Thanks

well tempoary solution, realised that if you gently lift the indoor handle you can push down the indoor "pop" button and lock it. I've taken out the barrel as it may fall out if i drove off.

So how do I go about putting the barrel back in, i'm assuming i'll have to take the inside of the door off - any step by step instructions would be a great help, pictures as well if poss as this is the first job on the van

there is a screw on the side/edge of the door just under the door rubber, adjacent to lock end of handle....undo the screw and the outer handle comes off...no need to remove door cards etc just to get handle off
