CV Joint

Post by Dubwana »

Just a quicky question. Just noticed previous owner has put a hex bolt into the CV joint instead of the allen key stud. Should I care? Some of the other oness are getting hard to get torque on so what would be the problem if I replaced others with a High Tension bolt that will be easier to put on and off using a socket set? This week off to camp in the truely wild so like simple and non specialized. Thanks in advance. I an sure many have asked this before but could not find it on a search.

for peace of mind and ease of maintenance I would suggest you consider new cap head bolts, M12 multispline for preference with new lock washers as well do the job right and grease at least the cv's while you are at it.
