I have 1.9D powered 1990 van, previously a 1.7D.
I've an option on a German 1.6TD Multivan as a donor with a rebuilt motor.
Is is worth the hassle of the swap?
I'm not sure of the BHP and Torque differences between the two engines.
One problem with my own van is the 1.9 matches poorly with the 1.7 gearbox and revs out at high speed.
1.9D to 1.6TD is worth it?

Have a look at
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... engine.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The 1.6td is going to be around the JX spec.
The 1.9d (1y I assume) is very similar power wise, but with marginally more torque I believe.
I've a 1.7d myself (KY) and been doing a lot of reading and asking about upgrades. I'm considering either a JX engine with an AAR box, or a 1Y engine with either an AAP or a DK box
