Nearly as many keys as doors!

My 1989 LHD 16" Syncro with central locking has nearly as many keys as it has doors! One key matches the ignition and drivers door.

How does one change the passenger, slide and rear door locks to fit the ignition key?

There has definately been a previous post regarding getting all the locks to work off one key. (but I don't know where it is) Try using the 'Search' facility and you should find it with a bit of luck.

it is possible to remove the lock parts and retumble them to the same key, if you have the kit from VW.
I can do this, so can Brickie and others who offer a refurb service on here from time to time. The kit is about £45 and contains enough tumblers and springs to do 16 7 tumbler locks.

Yes it's available from VW dealers.
